Southold Town has eight lighthouses, more than any other township in the United States.
These lighthouses include Long Beach Bar Lighthouse, Orient Point Lighthouse, Plum Island Lighthouse, Little Gull Lighthouse, Race Rock Lighthouse, North Dumpling Lighthouse, Latimer Reef Lighthouse and Horton’s Point Lighthouse. Seven of these lighthouses are offshore and only accessible by boat.
